COHCAA CRITERION FOR ACCREDITATION

Council of Health Care Accreditation and Association lays down criteria for health care educational institutions established globally. Institutions need to implement and acquire standards of quality, successful application of which will provide accreditation license.

We assess the overall performance of academic institutions and provide international accreditation after rigorous evaluation. We offer expansive support services, assistance and development opportunities to students, faculty and educational entities.

Our Robust and Rigorous Criteria

Enhances the quality of education and promotes institutional and programmatic accountability in the health care institutions and programs it accredits.

Establishes eligibility criteria and evaluation standards for the administration and operation of institutions providing predominantly allied health education and programs in specific allied health disciplines.

Ensures successful qualitative outcomes through a comprehensive program of systematic review, enhancement, and follow-up.

COHCAA ACCREDITATION CRITERIA

CRITERIA I

Mission

The mission and academic standards of the educational institutions must be clear and understandable by the general public. The nature and scope of the institution must be expressed publicly. The emphasis on research, scholarships, and academic programs of the institution should be made known to the public.

I. Educational institutions undertake to clarify the purpose of higher education institutions, provide instructions for their efforts and approve by the Steering Committee a widely publicized mission statement derived from the community and generally understood by the community.
II. Educational institutions define the achievements of the mission in the context of purpose, characteristics and expectations. By definition, it clarifies the institutional achievements or results that indicate the limits or scope of India's achievement.

CRITERIA II

Integrity

The institution operates with integrity to ensure the fulfillment of its mission through structures and processes that involve the board, administration, faculty, staff, and students.

I. The institution upholds and protects its integrity.
II. Educational institutions define the achievements of the mission in the context of purpose, characteristics and expectations. By definition, it clarifies the institutional achievements or results that indicate the limits or scope of India's achievement.

CRITERIA III

Student Learning and Effective Teaching

The institution provides evidence of student learning and teaching effectiveness that demonstrates it is fulfilling its educational mission.

I. The institution's goals for student learning outcomes are clearly stated for each educational program and make effective assessment possible.
II. The institution values and supports effective teaching.
III. The institution creates effective learning environments.
IV. The institution's learning resources support student learning and effective teaching.

CRITERIA IV

Application of Knowledge

The institution promotes a life of learning for its faculty, administration, staff, and students by fostering and supporting inquiry, creativity, practice, and social responsibility in ways consistent with its mission.

I. The institution demonstrates, through the actions of its board, administrators, students, faculty, and staff, that it values a life of learning.
II. The institution demonstrates that acquisition of a breadth of knowledge and skills and the exercise of intellectual inquiry are integral to its educational programs.
III. The institution assesses the usefulness of its curricula to students who will live and work in a global, diverse, and technological society.
IV. The institution provides support to ensure that faculty, students, and staff acquire, discover, and apply knowledge responsibly.

CRITERIA V

Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness

The institution’s resources, structures, and processes are sufficient to fulfill its mission, improve the quality of its educational offerings, and respond to future challenges and opportunities. The institution plans for the future.

I. The institution realistically prepares for a future shaped by multiple societal and economic trends.
II. The institution's resource base supports its educational programs and its plans for maintaining and strengthening their quality in the future.
III. The institution's ongoing evaluation and assessment processes provide reliable evidence of institutional effectiveness that clearly informs strategies for continuous improvement.
IV. All levels of planning align with the institution's mission, thereby enhancing its capacity to fulfill that mission.
